Monica & Tony Married | Santa Clara Wedding Photography

Last month we had the pleasure of photographing Monica and Tony's wedding. They were married in the same church as Monica's parents - so sweet! I spent time with Monica's family as Kristin took family shots with the groom, and let me just say that her family is absolutely wonderful. They are incredibly genuine, funny, and sincere, which made my job that much easier.

Nicole and Marcus | Santa Clara Wedding Photography

Well, this post is a long time coming! You can probably tell by the old logo that's on the photos. Aye, me.
Anyway, Nicole and Marcus tied the knot back in December. They are such an adorable couple and their love for one another really shows! You may remember them from their e-session. One of the most memorable events from their wedding was the maid of honor's toast where she lovingly retold the story of how the two met, driving their Camaros.
The BEST part of the night was when Nicole told us that we were their photographer's for life! That's the best compliment a photographer can get, and we can't wait to document the most important moments in their lives!
Here are some highlights from their night. If you can't tell from their favors, they had a San Jose Sharks inspired theme.

Alisa & Greg | San Jose Maternity Photography

Last weekend, I had a great time with my friend Greg and his wife Alisa. They are expecting their first child, a girl, in February. I was so overjoyed to do their maternity session because both of these parents-to-be are SO excited! They brought along their fur-child, Indie too, so we were able to get some "complete" family photos done.

(Oh, and just a side note, I'm playing around with my logo, and I think I've decided to go back to a blog runner.)

Alisa really has a beautiful mommy-to-be glow! She's simply lovely!

When I was taking this photo, I had to chop off Greg's head to make light of the height discrepancy because I can totally relate!

To end our day, we trekked out to some random field that I've seen from the freeway! I've been dying to take someone there, and Alisa was brave enough to walk through the mud!

Thanks, Greg and Alisa! I had so much fun with you two, and I wish you all the happiness that parenthood can bring! I can't wait to meet your little blessing!

Baby Christohpher | San Jose Baby Photography

Ah, baby Christopher, what a cutie! He was just shy of 2 weeks old when I photographed him before Christmas. He was so tiny! I haven't seen a baby that small in awhile. His mom and I were looking forward to some great sleeping baby shots, but little Christopher decided to nap the morning away. We hope to get some soon!

We did their session at this old property near my home. It's super cute, but unfortunately it will be gone soon : ( I'm glad that I was able to shoot there before it was gone.

Barbara & Danny Married | Fremont Wedding Photography

In October we shot Barbara and Danny's wedding. Barbara was such an excited bride; her face was glowing with happiness all day. I was especially happy that her parents were able to make it in from Guatemala - a few weeks before the wedding, they didn't know if they would be permitted to come. The day was beautifully warm and entirely lovely.

This is Narda. Ah, what can I say about Narda? She's absolutely fantastic! Narda is Barbara's aunt, and she helped plan and organize this affair - she was even somewhat a matchmaker for the happy couple. I couldn't resist capturing this candid, fun interaction between the two. Both of them were so excited! Oh, and Narda also made the dance floor one great place to be!

Here are Nicole and Marcus' engagement images. The four of us drove to Santa Cruz together, and we had such a great time getting to know this couple better. After Santa Cruz, we stopped back at Nicole and Marcus' place to take pictures of their cars in Campbell; both drive a Camaro. There is actually a really cute story about how they met too - they met while driving their cars! How sweet is that?

Sophia & Chris: San Jose Wedding Photography

Last month, Sophia and Chris were married! They were wed at The Villages in San Jose. This is one of the sweetest and most genuine couples that we have yet had the pleasure to work with. We had a great time with the these two, as well as their very amiable wedding party. Take a peak at part of their special day!

My favorite part of their wedding was the live butterfly release. It was beautiful! We actually had quite an interesting time preparing these cute little flyers - in fact, Sophia thinks that I am an expert butterly catcher!

Cat Logan Photography Mini Sessions!!

If you are thinking about having a family portrait done this season, now is the time! If you'd like to save some money, then this is your opportunity.

We will be offering a limited number of mini sessions November 11th, and November 15th. We will have a few sessions in the morning, and a few in the evening. We are planning on a park in Cupertino, but if that is too far, or you have something special in mind, please contact us - we are always looking for good suggestions!

What is a mini session?

A mini session is half the price ($75) and half the time (30 min).

You will also receive 15-20 images on disc, and an 8x10.

Barbara & Danny | Half Moon Bay Engagement Photography

Yep, you got it! We drove all the way out to Half Moon Bay to shoot Barbara and Danny's e-session. We had a great time getting to know these two better. We all ran around in the sand, and we ALL got plenty wet! All in good fun, though, and totally worth it!

Okay, so I couldn't wait to post this image so that I could share a sweet story with you all. Barbara's aunt described their relationship as "love at first song." As Danny tells it, it wasn't exactly that easy, but a great start. I think that that is just too cute, so I asked the couple to bring their ipods to capture this totally cute pic! I love it when I can share something personal about a couple with them, and I am even more stoked when I can incorporate it into their engagement/wedding memories.

Celest & Paul | Milpitas Wedding Photography

Celeste and Paul were married at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Milpitas. We were only there to shoot the ceremony and get some shots of the bride and groom.

I choose to edit a few of these with a vintage flair, I don't know whey, but it really seems to suit these two. I know that almost all these pictures are of them kissing, but when else do you let someone take pictures of you kissing for long periods of time?

Adri & Jon's Wedding: Palo Alto Wedding Photography

Okay! So let me begin this post with a little adventure story. It begins about a month before Jon and Adri's wedding...

Adri and Jon learn about us through a mutual friend and are in need of a photographer for their wedding that is fast approaching. We love to help our friends and even our friends of friends, so we check our availability. As it turns out, I am flying home from North Carolina on the day of their wedding. My estimated time of arrival is 2 p.m. Their wedding is suppose to start at 4 p.m. Before we even meet, we let Adri and Jon know about this, but they still want to meet with us - I'm game if they are. So we make the plans to shoot the wedding.

Flash forward. It is early Saturday morning, and I mean East coast time early, and we leave for the airport. There was some confusion at the curb check in, but being in a hurry I told my mom to forget it and that we would check our luggage inside. What we, mostly I, failed to understand was that our flight was DELAYED! No one ever used this work in describing the situation to us, and the woman who checked our bags didn't even tell us!! The possibility of making our connecting flight was incredibly slim (15 minutes in between) and the next flight would land us in San Jose at about 4:25. Not good.

Once we figured this out, I talked with other airline personnel, and I was able to get my mom, my niece and myself on a flight to San Francisco, instead of San Jose. Mind you that my mind is racing and I'm sure that my blood pressure was through the roof, but once we were on the plane, I was good. We were able to land EARLY in San Francisco, at 1 p.m.

Longer story made short (I won't even get started on the luggage ), I made it to the wedding in plenty of time. Talk about stress though. And poor Kristin, she was a "tad" worried about being on her own.

So enough about the trial of the wedding, let's get on to the couple's fabulous images. Adri and Jon are an adorable couple. We had so much fun with them and their wedding party. Just look how beautiful Adri is:

Luckily I slept for about an hour or so on the plane, but by the end of the night I was completely toasted! 5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. +3 hour time difference = one tired photographer! It was all worth it though because Adri and Jon's images are wonderful and I loved sharing their special day!!

Scrap-tastic! Jill's scrapbooked wedding album

Okay, so one of the reasons my summer blogging was put on hold, was due to crafts. I really do love to scrapbook! Even though I have yet to make myself a scrapbook, I love to give them as gifts. In fact, I spout that it's my patented baby shower gift. Last year I made my first wedding album, and this summer I made my second! Jill remarked how much she liked the one I made for our mutual friend last summer, so when she got engaged to Matt (super great guy), I went a little crazy. These are just the first few pages of her album.

When I design an album I imagine what type of photos will be put on the page. I try to lay everything out, so that the couple can easily add their favorite photos.

Matt and Jill had an absolutely beautiful wedding in San Luis Obispo, and we were glad to be a part of their special day. I can't wait to see the album with pictures in it!

I have known Robert for over ten years, and I am happy that he is now engaged to Tiffany! Robert was the best man at my own wedding, and now my husband can return the favor! The two of them have known each other since kindergarten!

Robert and Tiffany are a great couple! They met while playing softball at Twin Creeks, so we decided to take some softball shots of them together, and then some more intimate pictures. These are just a few highlights from our time together. Congrats you two! We wish you both all the best!

Adriana & Jon were actually married last Saturday, but more about that later! We did their engagement session at Evergreen Valley College and also at the entrance to The Ranch housing community nearby.

The Lehman Family: Pleasanton Lifestyle Family Photography

Kristin and I made a short trip to Pleasanton to photograph the Lehman family. Dr. Kerry, who is a dentist, came to us by referral, from our friend Heather. Their daughter Avery was about three months old when we took these pictures in June. She was all smiles when we arrived at the house, but she was less enthused when we went to the park.

We had fun meeting this cute little family, and we hope to see them again very soon!

Emma and Gerardo had a fantastic wedding. The food was great and the celebration with family and friends was amazing. The two were married at Wente Vineyards in Livermore. The first shot I have to show off is of Emma peering through one of the gorgeous windows at the Wente house. The whole evening was a blast, and I am honored that Emma and Gerardo invited me not only as their photographer, but also as a guest!

Where have I been?

Some of you may be wondering where I've been, since my blog has been utterly neglected. Well, with the end of the school year, I was very busy grading and helping kids pass English. Most recently however, I went on my belated honeymoon to Cancun. We had a great time!

As for the blog, I have many things to post, like a wedding, some babies, a family, and a graduate! They'll all be coming soon, so stay tuned! AND, you'll notice some changes to my blog and website too. More to come on the website as well!

The Canadians: San Ramon family photography

Our good friend, Heather, happens to be Canadian. Since we know several Heathers, we have loving bestowed upon her the name "Canadian Heather." Well, Heather's mother and nieces came to visit her from Canada, so she wanted to get some shots of all the kids together. Getting five kids of all ages to look at you is tough! Family and Child Portraits: Sonoma/Napa Photography

About two weeks ago, Kristin and I trekked up to Sonoma State University to do a slew of family and child portraits. The campus was absolutely beautiful!! We had five sessions. By the end of the day we were exhausted! Kristin was especially tired from being high-energy for so long. But in the end it was all worth it because we got these great shots! Here are only a few from our day, to see the rest, visit our website and view the slide shows.

First up, is little Rowan. Actually, she was our last session of the day, and she was such a trooper because it rained most of the time!

Next we have Amber and Bobby. Bobby was a little cold after having been bundled up in the nice warm car, but we got some smiles out of him anyway. This session was a nice way for Amber to document Bobby's four month milestone.

Ah, the Pruitt Family. The Pruitts are very good friends of ours, and they are the ones that helped to set up this day.

Emma has such beautiful eyes!

The Harris Family also joined us. Joseph and Emily were super cute! Kristin had a great time playing High-Five with Joseph; it made him laugh every time! (notice the hand ready to go)

And finally, we have the Paul family. Even though Noah had just taken a nap, he was still very tired. We were able to find his happy smiles up in the trees though.

Whew! That was a long day... then we had to drive home!

Magdalena's Maternity Session

Okay, so this is way overdue! A few months back, Magdalena did two maternity photo sessions with us. Magdalena is an old friend from high school, and I had so much fun chit-chatting with an old friend. As you can see, her due date is rapidly approaching. The baby name will be Maja - pronounced Maya. In the Croatian alphabet, there is no "y." I really can't wait to meet baby Maja. Congratulations again, Maggy!

This weekend I had the opportunity to shoot little Miss Mae. Her grandmother needed a new photo for her wall, so she asked me to come over for a quick session. She really was a tough cookie, but we got her to smile!

Last weekend, Allison, Devin and I got together for a low-key trash the dress session. Allison loves Central Park in Santa Clara, so we ventured there for some fun. We got some really great shots as the sun was going down. This couple is really a ton of fun, and many of their pictures reflect that! Here are some highlights of our day:
